Linen, Cotton & Flannel

(bedding & sleepwear)

Wash prior to use.

Warm gentle machine wash with like colours.

Line dry where possible otherwise tumble dry on low setting (ensure you do not use a high/hot setting as this will damage the fibre).

Wash separately or with similar fabrics (do not mix with towels or other items likely to leave lint)

Do not bleach or dry Clean.

Do not leave sheets on the clothesline or in direct sun for a prolonged period as natural fibres are susceptible to sun bleaching.

With the correct care, your bedding should last many years. However we do ask you to keep in mind that IN BED linen bedding is put through a stone washing process to ensure it is beautiful and soft to sleep in from the moment you receive it (much like all other stone or pre-washed linen on the market). This can somewhat shorten the lifespan of linen (fitted sheets in particular as they come under  a longer more wear and tear than other items) however without this process, linen in incredibly course and unpleasant to sleep in. The life span can be greatly improved by following these simple steps:

  • Change your sheets regularly (we recommend every 1-2 weeks)
  • Rotate your sheets with 1 or 2 other sets so the same ones aren’t going back on your bed as soon as you have washed & dried them (much like a favourite t-shirt or pair of jeans, you need to give your favourite sheets time to rest so the fibres don’t wear out sooner than you’d like)
  • Avoid direct contact with cosmetics or skin products not properly dried on skin (such as hair or body oil, heavy creams and especially specific acne treatment which may include peroxide or other bleaching properties.)
  • Do not wash with sharp-edged clothing accessories, such as metal zipper, buttons, metal hooks.

Cotton Towels

Wash before use.

Gentle machine wash with warm water

Line or tumble dry (tumble dry will help keep your towels soft and fluffy)

Avoid fabric softeners as this may affect your towels natural absorbency

If pile loops get caught and pulls free, cut them off at the base with sharp scissors. Cutting loose ends will prevent affecting other areas. Leaving loose threads dangling will cause it to unravel faster.

Keeping your towel soft & fluffy;

When you first receive your new towel we recommend shaking it out well to loosen the pile. We also recommend storing your towel somewhere a little humid (like in the bathroom while you take a shower) and either using or washing it straight away to bring back the soft & fluffy feel which may have been a little squashed during transit.

Place on a stable, heat resistant surface and away from draught.

Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Trim wick to 5mm before each use & do not move once lit.

Do not leave your burning candle unattended.

Be careful the glass may become hot.
