A selection of beautiful ceramics for everyday use by Anna Miller-Yeaman and Asuka Mew of Melbourne-based ceramics studio Wingnut & Co. The Wingnut & Co. label focuses on modest design, highlighting the use of natural materials with simple patterns and textures. Their ceramics are as beautiful as they are functional, pared back in cool, earthy tones with a strong Japanese design influence and aesthetic. We’ve curated a selection of their pieces for breakfast in bed; an espresso cup and saucer, breakfast bowl, toast plate, egg cups and mugs - pieces are sold individually or when grouped together they form a beautiful set. These ceramics look equally as good if made ornamental. A toast plate can also function as a bedside vessel for odds and ends, an espresso cup works well as a small vase for wildflowers. Each piece is carefully hand thrown, glazed and finished in their North Melbourne studio. This means that each Wingnut & Co ceramic is individual, bearing slight variations in appearance and size, adding to their appeal.
