Who are you?
Where are you from?
I grew up in Titirangi, Auckland, New Zealand.
Where do you reside now?
We’re just about to move back to the Waitakere Ranges, but I currently live with two guys and an adopted British Blue cat in the city.
What do you do?
I work alongside artists, designers and brands helping them to share their stories and collections. I am the editor and curator of content on Anyonegirl.com, and have just started a new side project called The Periodic Journal – a seasonally themed and released local publication.
Do you have any morning rituals?
Through the week I aim to do a session of yoga each morning before I start my day, but recently I haven’t prioritised my time very well! On the weekends, I turn my phone to silent and sleep in for as long as possible. Once I’m up, Nag Champa incense is lit, fresh coffee starts to brew, and some sweet tunes are turned on.
What are your 5 favourite things?
-Salt water. Nothing sorts my head out faster than a dip in the ocean
-Comfortable jeans and well-worn cotton
-Drives out to the coast with Fela Kuti’s ‘Roforofo Fight’ turned up loud
-Making dinner and having a glass of wine at the end of the day with my boyfriend
-Our record collection keeps me pretty happy too
What can’t you live without?
The desire to learn. It’s what keeps me curious and what makes me love what I do.
Any bedtime rituals?
Good books, quite tunes, and low light. Also, my feet are always cold, so trying and get them as close to my boyfriend without stunning him is high on the agenda.
Butter and marmite on toasted Vogels and a cup of green tea.
The smell of freshly mown grass.
Favourite sound to fall asleep to?
Our cat’s purring tummy.
Tips for a restful nights sleep?
Don’t drink gin. Do dance yourself sober.
Tea or coffee?
Coffee at 9am. Tea all day.
Best solution for Monday morning blues?
Making sure your day job is something that you enjoy doing.
