Our much adored collaboration with Melbourne clothing designer, Kateri makes a return this week, as part of our Back IN BED take-back program. Once again we have partnered with seamstress, Ruby Farley-Steere who has hand-sewn a collection of heirloom homewares from her Melbourne studio, using reclaimed textiles from the IN BED archives.

One-of-a-kind Bed Cover #8 is made from IN BED off-cuts including limited edition fabrics including textured cotton in Lake & hemp mix in Walnut. A unique fish appliqué adorns Rectangle Cushion #1, made from Navy & White linen scraps.

Ruby's collection of cushions use beloved IN BED patterned textiles including Pinstripe, Walter Stripe & Coastal Check, as well as our capsule kitchen collection in Pickle. Each piece from the collection comes with a patchwork one-of-a-kind label.
The latest collection sees a return of bed covers and Japanese-inspired Noren curtains, plus new designs including oversized floor cushions & Origami market bags. Her unique creations weave European linen off-cuts with limited edition fabrics including Textured Cotton & Hemp Mix, and feature imaginative details like pull ties and appliqué patterns. Each piece is finished with a patch-worked IN BED x Kateri label.

Ruby's one-of-a-kind Noren Curtain #4 marries Marigold Stripe & Cool Grey with hand-sewn ties & below it, a Bolster Cushion #2 featuring textured cotton in Lake is chequered with complementary linens. Bed Cover #1, with fabric ends artfully patch-worked in shades of Cobalt, Hazel, Kohl & Blush is finished with a linen binding.
Born in 2020, Kateri creates made-to-order fashion pieces that offer a refreshing antidote to fast fashion. All apparel is drafted, cut, sewn and packaged by Ruby in Melbourne, imbued with thoughtful and quality craftsmanship. Taking inspiration from the people she admires, as well as the greats of architecture & design, Ruby is known for her sculptural pieces and unique fabrics (often dead-stock or seconds), released in intentionally small drops to her loyal wearers.

Noren Curtain #3, made from lengths of European linen. Bedcover #4 repurposing Bauhaus, Kohl, Navy, Lake & Dove Grey. Bedcover #5 combines reclaimed Khaki, Stone, Grey & White Stripe.
This one-of-a-kind collection sees reclaimed IN BED seconds and off-cuts given a new life as part of the Back IN BED in-house recycling initiative, and will be displayed at our Paddington flagship store this month. IN BED x Kateri’s one-of-a-kind collection launches Thursday 13th March 2025, and will be available in-store and online (Australia only) until sold out.

Bed Cover #4 heroes our popular Bauhuas collection, inspired by the art & design movement of the same name. Floor Cushion #1, a first for IN BED combines a range of textured fabrics with a Chevron stitch detail.

Bed Cover #2 was designed to give the illusion of a throw at the end of the bed, crafted with Off-white heavy linen and Cocoa, Navy, Lake linen. Sweet details of Rectangle Cushion #1.
