House Dog: Four Legged Friends From the IN BED Journal

In a nod to our partnership with the RSPCA who we work closely with as part of our Back IN BED initiative, we've rounded up some of our favourite four legged friends from the IN BED Journal.

1. Juan Hernandez & Napoleon

For our first home feature of 2021 we traveled to the peaceful home of photographer Juan Hernandez in Mexico City that he shares with his beautiful Shiba Inu, Napoleón. We spoke to Juan about making a life in Mexico City, some of his most memorable career moments and aspirations for the new year.

2. Valerie Norman & Odessa

We visited Valerie Norman, Men’s Image Director for Kult Models (and also one of our favourite local DJ’s) at her beautiful home in Sydney’s Inner West on a crisp Saturday morning. The light and airy space was designed by the founders of award-winning architects Studio Internationale who resided in it when it was first restored. Valerie lives with her husband Ben and their Borzoi dog Odessa, who, although shy managed to make her way into nearly all of the photos on this shoot.

3. George Raftopoulos & Scout

Earlier this year we were delighted to meet charismatic artist George Raftopoulos at the beautiful terrace he shares with his wife Denise, two daughters Bella and Mimi. However, we couldn't help but be distracted by the four legged member of the family, Scout, who stayed by George's side throughout the shoot. We spoke to George about his impressive and ever evolving body of work, some of his favourite local haunts, and a few projects on the horizon for the rest of this year.

4. Caitlin Garcia-Ahern & Bowie

Cailtin is the founder of Thread Caravan, a project which hosts cultural art workshops. With a background in artistic design, sociology and education, her love for travel and community has led her to collaborate with like-minded individuals in cities around the world. Caitlin also recently started a new project, Caravana Canina, working to feed, spay, neuter, foster and adopt streets dogs in Oaxaca.
