A Study in Blue

To celebrate the launch of our new Cobalt bed linen, we explore the muses & moods behind our IN BED palette.
Exhibiting a highly pigmented intensity, Cobalt appears to give a sense of space to its subject - once enrobed in the colour, it takes on a transcendental quality of boundless depth. The limited edition release is our interpretation of International Klein Blue, a shade created by French artist, Yves Klein. It's said that a young Klein once signed the sky - announcing it to be his first artwork - master of the atmosphere that connects us all.
In contrast, the subtler shades of Mist & Powder Blue are heady with nostalgia, led by soft vintage pastels, designed to complement stronger shades without distraction. Reminiscent of sun-bleached denim, Lake offers calm & tranquility from its inky shade. Referencing the bodies of waters we go to seeking respite, Lake is a colour for cleansing; an invitation to a restful slumber.
