We make beautiful products for your home in a responsible and respectful way.
IN BED pieces are designed to last and we want you to love and use your products for years to come.

To help you look after your pieces and prolong their lifespan we’ve created a series of product care tips that will ensure your bedding, sleepwear and homewares are looking their best for as long as possible, whilst also being gentle on the earth.

It may come as a surprise to learn that half the carbon impact from clothing & textiles is created during the use phase, when they are washed, tumble dried, ironed, or used in any way.

The best way to look after your textiles is by being gentle and considered in your approach; so not only are you taking care IN BED, you're taking care of the planet.

Linen Bedding, Kitchen
& Sleepwear

We recommend a lukewarm machine wash at 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit) or less, as this is the most eco-friendly temperature. Wash with like colours and do not bleach.

Avoid tumble drying where possible. Not only do dryers consume a high level of energy, but they may shorten the lifespan of your textiles. If tumble drying is necessary, please use it on the lowest possible setting. Please take care ensuring the ties on linen duvets are left open during washing and drying to avoid unnecessary stress on the fabric.

Line dry whenever possible. Not only is it gentler on your linens, and the planet, but sunlight is a natural antibacterial agent and can help to brighten whites. Avoid leaving your linens outside for an extended period as sunlight can cause bleaching to coloured fabrics.

We advise investing in a few sets of bedding and alternating sets every one to two weeks to ensure longevity.

Avoid direct contact with cosmetics or skin products not properly dried on skin such as hair or body oil, heavy creams and acne treatments which may contain peroxide or other bleaching properties.

To spot clean grease marks, dab stain with a gentle eco-friendly dish liquid prior to washing.

Do not wash with sharp-edged clothing accessories, such as metal zipper, buttons, metal hooks.

Cotton Towels

When you first receive your new towel we recommend shaking it out well to loosen the pile. We also recommend storing your towel somewhere a little humid (like in the bathroom while you take a shower) and washing it straight away to bring back the soft & fluffy feel which may have been a little squashed during transit.

We recommend washing before use, using a lukewarm machine wash at 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit) or less, as this is the most eco-friendly temperature.

Line or tumble dry on the lowest setting. Tumble drying will help keep your towels soft and fluffy, however we recommend line drying as it is more eco-friendly.

If pile loops get caught and pull free, cut them off at the base with sharp scissors. Cutting loose ends will prevent affecting other areas, and fibres from unravelling.

Mending & Repairs

Over the course of their lifespan, your products may snag on rouge zippers or pointy corners, be a little too loved by your furry friends or simply lose a button or tie in a tumble dry.

In these instances we encourage you to mend your IN BED items and believe that the odd patch or mismatched button adds character and appeal rather than spoiling a product.

No matter how old your IN BED product is, if you find yourself missing a button, duvet tie, zipper or are in need of a patch of linen fabric, we urge you to get in touch as we will happily send you a replacement piece to mend your beloved piece free of charge.
