From Winter Warmth to Spring Lightness: A Seasonal Bedding Guide

With spring in the air, now is the ideal moment to refresh your bed for the warmer months. Thoughtfully designed to layer effortlessly, all IN BED textiles are made to carry you throughout the seasons. Join us in embracing lighter, natural and breathable fibres, such as linen and cotton - crafted entirely in Europe. Here, we share our five recommendations for a spring bedding update, along with a gallery of inspiration to welcome the new season.

Our Oversized Heavy Linen bed cover in Natural, paired with Organic Cotton Percale offers a lighter combination for spring, as does our Textured Cotton bed cover in Lake & Off-white

1. Swap heavy duvets for lighter bed covers

Our versatile bed covers, available in Heavy Linen and Textured Cotton, are designed as a lightweight alternative to a heavy duvet. Not just for the warmer months, they can be used as an additional layer over your duvet come winter time, or draped or folded at the foot of your bed for the in-between temperatures.

At the Melbourne homes of stylist, Stephanie Stamatis & entrepreneur, Myra Spencer, our oversized bed covers make a striking impact

2. Embrace cool & lightweight cotton

Soft on the skin, yet crisp to the touch, our Organic Cotton Percale is made from 100% long staple cotton and woven in a superior 300 thread count. This premium cotton not only feels more luxurious, but long staple cotton is also more enduring and lightweight than low-cost, short staple cotton. An investment in comfort, and quality.

Our Organic Cotton Percale collection is perfect for spring; lightweight and breathable, plus it washes and wears beautifully. For a textural contrast, it pairs perfectly with Heavy Linen - as seen in the seaside home of gallery directory, Jerico Tracy

3. Opt for a lighter colour palette

The IN BED palette is offered in a range of considered shades, designed to mix, match, and make your own. As we embrace spring and its natural bounty, we turn to lighter linen shades of Mist, Stone, Chestnut, Dove Grey, and from our core cotton collection: Milk & Pure White.

At the home of chef, Rosie Kellett Mist & White making a calming combination, while an all-Chestnut palette looks perfectly in place at Amy Henderson's art-filled apartment

4. Add texture & interest

Introduce styling elements to the bed, such as Textured Cotton or Heavy Linen cushion covers to create visual depth and intrigue, while updating the mood of your space. Simply refreshing your pillowslips with a new set can introduce colour, or pattern, like Navy Pinstripe, Grey + White Stripe or our Blue Stripe cotton.

Striped bedding adds interest to the bedroom of beauty founder, Fran Miller in Toronto, Canada

5. Wash and store winter bedding

Before stashing away your winter bedding, carefully launder in a gentle washing detergent. We recommend a lukewarm machine wash at 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit) and line dry, as this is the most eco-friendly method. Once dry, store in an airy linen press, or tuck back into a recycled IN BED bag.

We recommend line-drying your bedding to preserve the integrity of the fibres and for it's lower environmental impact
