The Bedside — Edition No. 3
Monday March 1st, 2026: Making Bed, Better
March is B Corp Month, which always prompts us to take stock. Not just of the certification itself, but of the standards we choose to uphold and the responsibility that comes with running a business in this industry.
It felt like a good moment to share what building a better bed really means to us.
There has never been more linen and bedding on the market. And if we are being honest, it all kind of sounds the same, doesn’t it? European flax, sustainable production, premium, ethical etc.
When everything uses the same language, it’s hard to see the forest for the trees. But really, the only thing that truly matters is what sits underneath the buzzwords.
We know our entire supply chain, right down to where and by whom our flax is grown - the region and the cooperative. From there, our linen is spun, woven, dyed, cut and sewn entirely within Europe, where flax has been cultivated and refined for generations.
We work with production partners who sit geographically close to one another, allowing each stage of production to move by road rather than air. It is slower and more deliberate, and it keeps us closely connected to every part of the process.

Our main bedding partner in Portugal has worked with us since 2018, when we consolidated our bedding production in Europe. We have grown together and we believe long-term relationships create consistency and accountability.
Producing entirely within Europe means longer timelines and higher costs than many globalised supply chains. For us, it’s a conscious choice. Staying in one place, investing in expertise and building depth over time has always mattered more to us than chasing marginal savings or sacrificing quality.
Then there is the fabric itself; our linen is woven at 175gsm, a weight chosen for structure and longevity. It’s softened carefully, without compromising the strength of the fibre. We offer a two-year guarantee because we expect it to endure.
Staying in one place, investing in expertise and building depth over time has always mattered more to us than chasing marginal savings or sacrificing quality.
We are certified European Flax and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. We are also a certified B Corporation, scoring over 100 points in 2025, nearly double the global average. These frameworks independently assess how we operate across governance, workers, community and environmental impact.

In a market where sustainability claims can be broad, we believe transparency should be specific:
Where the fibre is grown
Who makes it
How it travels
Why it costs what it costs
If our linen is more expensive, it reflects the standards we choose to hold: traceable fibre, durable cloth, long-term partnerships and independent accountability.
We don’t believe that should be exceptional. We believe it is simply how things should be made.
