Back IN BED: Project #2
For our second Back IN BED project we have partnered with seamstress, Ruby Farley-Steere at Kateri, who has designed and hand-crafted a selection of heirloom homewares using reclaimed textiles collected as part of our Back IN BED program.
One-of-a-kind Bed Cover #3 and One-of-a-kind Square Cushion #1, made from IN BED linen off-cuts in a variety of fabrics including linen in gingham & pinstripe, textured cotton, hemp & linen mix and heavy linen.
Ruby's One-of-a-kind Runner #1 and Round Cushion #4, utilising off-cut fabric from our cotton cord fabric
This one-of-a-kind collection sees reclaimed IN BED fabrics and off-cuts given a new life as part of our Back IN BED in-house recycling initiative. Ruby has layered samples, off-cuts and reclaimed linens to create a limited run of homewares including bed & cushion covers, runners, Noren curtains & wall hangings.
One-of-a-kind Bedcover #1 and Curtain #2, meticulously patch-worked with our 100% linen offcuts in mist, white, natural, stone, stripe & more. This curtain took over 8 hours to complete by hand.
Kateri was born as an antidote to fast fashion by crafting made-to-order pieces. An ethos that translated perfectly to this collection, Ruby uses dead-stock and seconds fabrics in her designs. Available in-store & online in Australia only, each item in this IN BED x Kateri one-of-a-kind collection is hand made in Melbourne and entirely unique.
One-of-a-kind Curtain #3, made from lengths of lake, mist and dove grey with heavy linen loops.
One-of-a-kind Rectangle Cushion #3, made from linen & corduroy off-cuts.
One-of-a-kind Square Cushion #2 & Bolster Cushion #1, meticulously patch-worked with our 100% linen offcuts as well as fabrics from limited edition collections in cotton corduroy, textured cotton, hemp & linen and more.
